Money as a Force for Good
What the workshop is about
With poverty and inequality spiraling out of control, it’s clear something isn’t right with how the economy works. Money as a Force for Good is an online workshop that sheds light on an important source of our economic problems: “national monetary systems”. These systems control how much money there is in a nation’s economy and where it is allocated. They have a huge impact on which parts of the economy thrive or die. History shows that monetary systems can also be used to solve major problems, such as unemployment, poverty, pollution, and access to good healthcare and education. This interactive online workshop reveals:
- [ ] why monetary systems are more powerful than economic systems
- [ ] the diverse monetary system designs humans have developed over time (we have choices!)
- [ ] how monetary systems are designed and function in most countries, today
- [ ] why today’s monetary systems are causing high levels of debt, poverty, unemployment, inequality, and environmental pollution
- [ ] why 80% of people are misinformed about where money comes from, today
- [ ] the colonial history of today’s national monetary systems
- [ ] how today’s monetary systems can be changed to promote economic wellbeing for all, including eliminating many types of debt while funding healthcare, education, poverty-alleviation, affordable housing, and more
- [ ] how everyone can play an important role in transforming today’s monetary systems into a powerful force for good!
Important: This workshop is not about crypto currencies (bitcoin), personal finances (budgeting, saving, investing, etc), interest rates, or government taxing and spending. We have nothing to sell, now or in the future. We are a nonprofit organization that teaches activists about national monetary systems, how they operate, and how to change them in ways that promote economic wellbeing for all.
